Now that Samsung has started shipping out Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge units to customers around the world, we have started hearing about the first problems plaguing these beautiful devices.

For example, a few weeks ago, we told you that some Samsung Galaxy S6 edge owners were reportedly facing an auto-rotate bug. It appears that the problem becomes visible when people use the phone in landscape mode, as the device tends to remain locked in this position. The issue also messes up the camera UI by turning it upside down.

Today, we bring you word of another peculiar occurrence that has to do with the phone’s selfie snapper. It looks like photos taken with the front-facing camera show tiny (but visible) purple specks close to the top right corner.

As it turns out, this is not a singular occurrence, as the original thread on Reddit did receive a lot of feedback from people experiencing the same problems.

Are you having similar issues?

The user who initiated the thread claimed that the issue popped up recently, since images taken a few weeks ago didn't show the distinctive purple specks. Now, all the images taken with the frontal shooter are plagued by these annoying dots.

Some Galaxy S6 owners who encountered the issue have taken steps to return the phones and have gotten replacements. No word if the problem still persists, though.

Samsung doesn't seem to have acknowledged the problem, so for the time being, we don’t know whether we’re dealing with a software issue or a more serious hardware one.

If you’re one of the affected users and you’re looking for a viable workaround, the xda-developers forum has a possible solution you might want to try out.

It involves lowering the resolution of the frontal snapper from 5MP to 3.8MP, but this is not the ideal solution given that you won’t be able to use the selfie snapper at full capacity anymore.

The only good news at this point is that the problem doesn't seem to be a very widespread one and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge owners haven’t reported similar issues.
