People are map addicts when it comes to the elections

Don't get me wrong, there's a world of meaning in taking interest in what is to happen to your future as a country and this deserves all the media hype surrounding it. However there's a big difference between knowing what there is to know and creating a map on top of another, polling and graphing every little detail that might show up in the course of the elections. Sadly enough, somebody's got to do it for the rest to be happy, and somebody is actually doing it. You're just here for the ride and the Google Long Lat Blog is your copilot with the map.

Are you interested in meeting with others supporters of John Edwards, Mike Huckabee or Barack Obama? Nothing easier, just check out the respective maps and all the information is available at the click of the mouse. The only problem will be the traveling there but if you're into politics to the point of considering going, that really won't be an issue.

Supporters are actually being very creative, they are taking advantage of all the features that the Mountain View based company has laid out before them, mapping YouTube video speeches of John Edwards and giving them geo-positioning throughout the world (note the talks with the US soldiers stationed abroad) or the map of testimonials given by fans of Rudy Giuliani from across the country.

No, Ron Paul has not been omitted by the map frenzied electors, his straw polls results being included in the map here, complete with the date, his ranking and percentage. Add to all those of the above the official Google caucus maps and you'll have a pretty clear pictures of the magnitude this year's elections have reached. Also go and vote, it's your future too!
