Arjen Balfoort has had the great pleasure of announcing the immediate availability of updated builds of the SolydX and SolydK Linux distributions, which are now based on the recently released Debian GNU/Linux 8.1 (Jessie) operating system.

SolydXK 201506 is here to patch several nasty issues that have been discovered since the previous build of the distributions, in order to offer a more stable and reliable desktop experience to its dedicated users. The new version also includes many updated software packages.

"It is time for a new release! The new ISOs are based on Debian’s first 'Jessie' 8.1 point release," says Arjen Balfoort, founder of the SolydXK project. "Several bugs have been patched since then and this release promise to be absolutely rock solid! [...] I want to thank everybody involved for your work to make these community editions possible!"

For those of you who are not in the loop, we inform you that the SolydXK project consists of two different Linux distributions, SolydX and SolydK. While the SolydX flavor is built around the Xfce desktop environment, the SolydK edition boasts a modern KDE4 interface.

Enthusiast’s Editions are coming soon

With this announcement, SolydXK users are being informed that they will have to wait a bit longer for the Enthusiast’s Editions, because the currently available Linux kernel packages from the Debian Testing operating system don't boot in a live environment. As soon as the issues are patched upstream, they will be released as well.

Download SolydX 201506 and SolydK 201506 right now from Softpedia or directly from the project's website, where you will find official 64-bit Live ISO images, as well as 32-bit builds offered by members of the SolydXK community. SolydX is also available for the Raspberry Pi 2 computer board.
