If you have $11,900 / €8,714, you can get your own semi-automatic pistol

In a fairly ironic and amusing turn of events, Solid Concepts has offered to 3D print a semi-automatic handgun to anyone with the money to spare, even though it was just days ago that the Undetectable Firearms Act was extended and 3D printed guns got banned for real.

Then again, that only applies to plastic weapons, not metal ones.

Anyway, 3D printing company Solid Concepts is offering to print the gun it unveiled last month to anyone with $11,900 / €8,714 lying around.

The weapon has been proven so far capable of firing 2,000 rounds without malfunctioning.

The gun is named M1911 and is a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Additive Metal Manufacturing will be used to make it (out of Inconel 625 and Stainless Steel components), and you'll have some customization options to choose from.
