Just in case you have been overwhelmed with a sense of anticipation ever since ASUS' CEO, Jerry Shen, first mentioned that the upcoming Eee PCs would come with touchscreen and Windows 7, but you are an Acer Aspire One user, maybe you should head on to eBay, as you are likely to find a possible solution to your problem. That is because it is on eBay that you can now find a touchscreen kit that will basically allow you to use your Acer Aspire One netbook as a touchscreen-enabled portable computer system.

You read that right, make no mistake about it: for a price of US$95.95, your Aspire One netbook can be featured with a third-party solution that will enable you use the netbook's screen to access various functions of your system. However, what is more interesting is that, according to the product's presentation, the touchscreen kit installation requires no soldering, which means you are likely going to be able to manage the installation without help from any other experienced person.

Apparently, the 4-wire analog resistive screen comes with drivers support for all three major operating systems, namely Windows, Linux and OS X. Also, according to the specifications made available, the touchscreen kit has a response time of below 10ms, has three additional USB 2.0 ports for future modifications, and is apparently also good for ASUS' Eee PC 900 and 901 models. So, unless you are the proud owner of another netbook from the many out there on the market, this kit is probably the best way to tune up your low-end, ultraportable netbook system.

The kit is also good to provide users with an early feeling of a Windows 7- and touchscreen-enabled Eee PC, long before you have the actual chance to test either of the two. However, it’s probably a wise choice to wait until some reviews of this kit also surface on the Internet, that is, if you don't want to accidentally put an end to the life of your precious Aspire One or Eee PC netbook.
