Inside source claims solar panels are being installed on top of the White House

Rumor has it that a team of workers is now busy installing solar panels on the White House's roof.

The news reached the public thanks to an inside source, i.e. an anonymous White House official, who agreed to chat with staff at The Washington Post and disclosed info concerning this project.

According to Ecorazzi, the White House official said that, “the install is in process,” and that the solar panels were, “a part of an energy retrofit that will improve the overall energy efficiency of the building.”

Commenting on this piece of news, climate activist Bill McKibben made the following statements:

“Better late than never – in truth, no one should ever have taken down the panels Jimmy Carter put on the roof way back in 1979.”

“But it’s very good to know that once again the country’s most powerful address will be drawing some of that power from the sun.”

If solar panels are in fact being installed on top of the White House, further details will probably hit the public in the days to come. Stay tuned for updates.
