14 DAY TRIAL // The Solange – Jay Z – Beyonce drama / scandal continues. As no party of the three involved in the violent episode caught by surveillance cameras in an elevator after the MET Gala 2014 has yet addressed it, more and more rumors about what might have sparked it are making the rounds online.
One such rumor cited by BlackAmericaWeb claims that Solange was so mad at Jay Z that she actually attacked him physically because he was planning on attending a party thrown by Rihanna on his own.
Admittedly, she had already had one furious row that evening with him, when she found out that he had turned away a few of her friends trying to crash a party using his name. When he told her and Beyonce, his wife, that he would be going to Rihanna’s party even though Beyonce wanted to go home, Solange just flipped.
“Why can’t you go home?” Solange reportedly told Jay right before they got into the elevator in which she unleashed all her fury on him, by physically assaulting him. “Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?” she asked Beyonce.
Jay’s response made Solange really lose her cool, according to the report. “You’re one to talk,” he reportedly told her.
Video of the altercation is embedded below. As of now, no one knows what started it but there’s really no denying that, whatever it was, it made Solange raging mad, based on the way she’s acting.
She’s seen going for Jay Z at least on two separate occasions, each time being pulled back and restrained by the bodyguard. While Jay doesn’t strike back (he’s just trying to defend himself from Solange’s punches and kicks), what stands out is Beyonce’s obvious desire not to intervene.
After Solange throws her purse at Jay and all the things she had in it go flying about in the elevator, Beyonce – almost calmly – goes to pick them up and hand them back to her. It’s not until the end of the video that she’s clearly seen speaking and, then too, she doesn’t address her sister, who seemed out of control, but her husband.
Always the one to keep up appearances, as they made their way out of the elevator, towards two awaiting cars, Beyonce stopped and posed for pictures, smiling and waving as nothing had happened. A furious Solange glared at the cameras and got into one car, while a seemingly confused Jay got into the other without as much as a second glance towards the photographers.
