dots aptosidOn September 14th, Stefan Lippers-Hollmann proudly announced the new aptosid 2010-02 operating system, previously known as sidux. Dubbed Keres, aptosid continues where sidux left off and users can seamlessly upgrade from one to the other.

aptosid 2010-02 comes with either the KDE desktop environment, by default, or, alternatively, with XFCE, both in either 32-bit or 64-bit flavors. Thanks to its Debian base, the hardware requirements are rather low and aptosid supports a decent number of platforms.

New in aptosid 2010-02 is the latest Linux kernel 2.6.35.4 and KDE SC 4.4.5. Unfortunately, KDE 4.5 hasn't made it yet, despite being out a few weeks, but will probably be offered as an upgrade soon.
