Sofia Vergara, one of the most enchanting presences in television right now, has always been very open about the importance of a healthy body image and body acceptance. In her latest interview with Redbook, she emphasizes on that, using herself as an example.

One of the many reasons audiences love Sofia is her killer figure – and her killer curves in particular.

Speaking with the magazine, the actress explains that she went through a very awkward stage when growing up precisely because of her ample cleavage, which looked out of place on her tiny, delicate frame.

“I’ve had these ridiculously huge [breasts] since I was super young. Like, 13. I was really skinny at that time, so it was weird to have those [breasts] and be skinny,” she says for the publication.

“It was hideous. Then after I had my kid, I got hips and everything started to come together,” the actress explains.

She had Manolo when she was young, at 19, so she sort of got that out of the way. Now that her boyfriend Nick Loeb is asking her to start a family with him, she’s of two minds about getting pregnant again.

“When I had Manolo, I was 19, and I had the energy for everything. My boyfriend now wants to have kids, and I don’t even want to think about it. I would have to get into that mind-set again, the waking up early,” the actress tells the magazine.

In the same interview, Sofia also talks about her Emmy-winning show “Modern Family” and how proud she was when she heard her name up for various prestigious awards, especially since that enabled to rub her son’s face in it.

“[Manolo] humiliates me! He doesn’t understand how my accent can get worse and worse. He says, ‘It’s not normal. Nobody does that.’ So when I got nominated for the Emmy [in 2010] I called him and said, ‘Right in your face! Even with my accent!’” Sofia gushes.
