A controversial video surfaced on Vdagestan, a site popular with Islamic militants, and has the entire world, and Russia in particular, in an alert phase after stating that alleged suicide bombers are preparing to make Sochi memorable, and not in a good way.

A 45-minute video, featuring two Muslim extremists, emerged on Saturday on a Russian-language site, which is popular among Islamic forces fighting in the Caucasus region, and claimed responsibility for the Volgograd bombings, before warning citizens about a surprise package for the Sochi Olympics.

The clip explained that the Russians and foreigners attending the Winter Olympics would have to be concerned about their safety as they were planning an unexpected hit. The two men in the video stated that, as long as Russian forces occupied the North Caucasus region, they would be forced to face a bloody experience.

Militants prepared a terrorist attack and “those tourists that will come to you, for them, too, we have a surprise […] this is for all the Muslim blood that is shed every day around the world, be it in Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, all around the world. This will be our revenge,” one of the men in the video said, ABC News notes.

The men making the threat were not dressed in the usual jihadis clothing, but appeared standing before a black flag with Islamist characters and flashing AKM rifles. The outraging video was released just moments after Russian President Vladimir Putin talked about tight security measures designed to make the Olympic Games a safe environment.

Not only was the video used to threaten the security of the participants in the Sochi Olympics, but it also claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing dating back to December 29 in the Volgograd train station. The tragic event saw 18 deaths and more than 44 people injured, and was followed by another attack, just the following day, with another 16 deaths and 41 people injured.

The U.S. Government has been trying to cooperate with Russian forces in order to protect citizens and athletes attending the Winter Olympics, but despite their concern, forces of the state hosting the games have been reluctant in accepting foreign aid. Despite agreeing to a small team of American security personnel, Russians are trying to handle the situation on their own terms.
