14 DAY TRIAL // Snooki shocked the world when she announced that she was pregnant with her first child but, as expected, anticipation to see her in the new role has been building steadily for the past few months. It’s now reached a boiling point, with several glossies locked in a huge bidding war for her baby photos.
The reality star who made a name for herself on MTV’s controversial but popular “Jersey Shore,” whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, gave birth to Lorenzo Dominic earlier this week.
She and fiancé Jionni LaValle have already announced plans for a wedding after the arrival of the baby.
Until we get to see Snooki as bride, we’ll be first seeing her as a mom. The Huffington Post reports that several of the big celebrity magazines are now bidding for her baby pics.
Even though the days when a star (as was Angelina Jolie’s case) could command a multi-million dollar check for the first exclusive photos of a newborn child are gone, there’s still a fortune to be made from this “practice.”
If Snooki and Jionni play their cards right, they could do the same. The Post estimates that the pint-sized reality star stands to make at least $250,000 (€199,425.7) for the first pics.
“There is great interest in seeing what Snooki’s son looks like. She has never been a great seller in the past, but who doesn’t want to see if her little meatball looks like his famous mom?” one magazine editor reveals for the publication.
“I expect the bidding war could go as high as $250,000, with several outlets bidding against each other and raising the price,” the source goes on to say.
If you happen to be among those who can’t wait to see Snooki’s precious bundle of joy, you should probably know that TMZ already has the first photo of Lorenzo, snapped as they were leaving the hospital the other day.
Granted, you can’t see much of the baby but one thing at least is certain: he has a full head of hair. Also, Snooki is taping every moment of her new experience for her reality show, judging by how many TV cameras are around her.
