We are all used to videos of snakes trapping mice and eating them in one bite, but a really thirsty snake is not something one gets to witness all that often.

Recently, visitors to a rainforest exhibition organized by the California Academy of Sciences got to see how a red-tailed green rat snake performed what most considered to be quite an amazing stunt.

Thus, hanging upside-down from a branch, the snake gulped down a considerable amount of water, all the while continuing to dangle from one side to the other.

As a species indigenous to Southeast Asia, the red-tailed green rat snake is well known for its climbing abilities and for managing to keep its balance in the weirdest of positions.

Although it mainly feeds on small birds, the snake does not shy away from biting its handlers while in captivity.
