Wavelink Corporation, a well-known developer of multi-vendor mobile application and infrastructure management software for the enterprise, announced a partnership with Aruba Networks, the Mobile Edge Company.

Under the terms of this agreement, Wavelink and Aruba will provide integrated functionality between Aruba's wireless and mobility solutions and Wavelink's Avalanche Mobility Center (Avalanche MC) product line. Retail and logistics organizations will benefit from seamless management of their mobile devices and Aruba mobility controllers and access points, from a common centralized management console.

Together, Wavelink and Aruba will provide retailers with a means to secure and support both legacy and contemporary mobile devices, simultaneously. With this approach, legacy devices can be slowly phased out without disrupting mobile applications. Both Aruba's Mobile Edge architecture and Wavelink's Avalanche MC can support a wide-range of device types. Aruba's Mobile Edge features a per-user firewall to securely allow legacy devices without sacrificing overall network security, as well as infrastructure-controlled mobility performance to eliminate dependency on mobile device client-side software.

"For the retail and logistics markets, Wavelink has extensive experience solving the unique challenges associated with managing wireless infrastructure while Aruba's Mobile Edge addresses PCI-level security along with support for legacy and contemporary mobile devices and applications," said Gary Singh, vice president of marketing for Aruba Networks. "Combining Wavelink's and Aruba's solutions will offer existing and new retail customers an easy and efficient management solution for complex mobile systems that include Aruba wireless equipment."
