The frantic multiplayer Small Arms is set to be released on November 30, 2006. Microsoft is set to launch the game on that date for the Xbox 360.

The developer of the game is Gastronaut Studios, which has not revealed much information. All that is known about Small Arms is that it will differ from anything that has been released until now and that it will feature anthropomorphic animals with weapons.

Small Arms will be a hybrid platforming, fighting and shoot 'em up game which has been compared by Peter More at X06 with Super Smash Bros. According to Gastronaut Studios representatives, Small Arms will feature up to 12 characters, and more additional content will be available through Xbox Live Arcade. Further information reveals that Small Arms will have a feature that is not present in many games, 360 degrees of aiming, and for that, the game has been compared with Geometry Wars.

In an interview, Don Wurster, Co-Director/Developer for Gastronaut Studios, revealed that each character in the game will start armed with an initial weapon, being able to pick up new ones as they progress further in the game.
