The uploaders of this video call themselves the Slow Mo guys. Recording a Molotov cocktail explode in slow motion is just the latest of their feats. Their video stacked up almost 900,000 views in just 3 days.

The explosion was captured with a Phantom Flex camera, shooting at a remarkable 2500fps.

The Molotov cocktail, or petrol bomb, is basically a mixture of gasoline and motor oil, deposited in a breakable glass container, to which a source of ignition is added.

According to wikipedia, the bomb was first used during the Spanish Civil War, between July 1936 and April 1939. It only got the name Molotov after Finns coined it during the Winter War between the Soviet Union and Finland in 1939. The name Molotov referred to Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov.
