In what is officially the second interview since the release of “Chinese Democracy,” Axl Rose has agreed to talk about the old Guns N’Roses lineup, the possibility about the old gang ever reuniting, the album itself and the media. For starters, the outspoken rocker says Slash is like cancer, thus completely putting to rest all those rumors about a reunion taking place sometime in the undetermined future, Spinner and Rolling Stone report.

That Axl and Slash parted ways on not the friendliest of terms is no longer a secret, as neither is their attitude regarding the split. While Slash has occasionally managed to maintain some appearance of diplomacy, Axl has always been the one to call things like he saw them. This once, he sees his former band mate and friend as cancer, and the sooner he was taken out, the better for everyone.

“There’s zero possibility of me having anything to do with Slash other than by ambush, and that wouldn’t be pretty. Slash either should not have been in Guns to begin with, or should have left after ‘Lies.’ In a nutshell, personally I consider him a cancer and better removed, avoided – and the less anyone heard of him or his supporters, the better.” Axl tells Spinner in the interview. Nevertheless, the rocker still has some good feelings for Izzy Stradlin or Duff McKagan, which means a mini-reunion could be a possibility in the future, as Rolling Stone speculates.

The interview also touched on much debated subjects such as what took Axl so long to complete “Chinese Democracy,” which, as fans would know, took 13 years in the making. It wasn’t his fault, the rocker pinpoints, but the media’s who tried to turn this into the “best album ever made,” which was far from his intention – or that of the other boys from Guns, for that matter, Axl explains.

“No, that’s [expletive] ridiculous and more negative media nonsense. We were all just trying to do our best for the fans and ourselves. There [sic] types of comments are more from our detractors, pulled out of their [backside] if not thin air.” Rose reveals for Spinner. On the bright side of things, Axl also hints at a possible tour taking place sooner than fans might expect, as well as at some new material. For more on this last part, just keep an eye on this space.
