The new leak is made of actual, real-life shots of the thing, not a press render

Some may have considered that leak of last week, involving LG's wrap-around stylus, to be enough proof that the company is serious about a slap strap that straightens into an electronic screen pen, but for those who want actual, real photos, your wish has just been fulfilled.

Odd things crop up every other day on the technology market, on all levels of society really, so we're not surprised that LG would use that to its advantage.

After all, odd things draw attention, and all attention is good attention if you're good enough at spinning things your way.

In the case of LG's wrap-around stylus, which went from patent schematic to actual product in a matter of weeks, the company didn't have to put too much effort into it.

It actually hasn't had to put effort into advertising at all. It just sat back and let leaks do the job for it.

Last week it was this LG wrap-around stylus photo, and this week we get the most reliable type of evidence possible online: hands-on photos.

Published by the folks at Ubergizmo and Phandroid, the photographs show the stylus both wrapped in a tight roll (tighter than it would fit around a wrist) and extended in usable form. Note the clearly real backgrounds, of concrete and pillow sheets.

You might wonder why LG would do this, when everyone seems so gung-ho about smartwatches instead of other wearables.

There is an easy explanation for that: the stylus is the one asset that smartphones cannot incorporate, especially with how thin they've been getting.

And phones are becoming curved and flexible now, or that's what their makers are trying to shape them as for the future.

So there isn't an easy way to include a pen, and the added cost and design toils when the idea does pass makes it so that only business/professional-oriented devices like the Galaxy Note series are built with a socket for them. And if you misplace or outright lose the stylus, it's not fun.

LG's bracelet stylus is easy and (presumably) cheap to make, and since it's capacitive, it can work with anything that has a touch panel, no matter the size or manufacturer.

LG's slap bracelet stylus will only be shipped as a promotional gift with the LG G Pad 8.3 tablet for a while, which is unfortunate. Hopefully, the IT player will release it as a standalone product soon as well. Color options include orange, red, green, white, charcoal black (according to the leaked pictures) and likely many others.
