Great news for Slacker Radio users, as developers have just released a major update for the application which changes its look and feel and adds several important new features.

As expected, the Windows Phone version of Slacker Radio is the last to receive a major update, as Android and iOS applications have already received major improvements in the last couple of weeks.

Nevertheless, Windows Phone fans will now be able to enjoy lots of news features and a better design meant to enhance the overall user experience.

Those who already have the application installed on their Windows Phone devices will immediately notice that Slacker Radio now features a new design. The new visuals are cleaner and more stylish, better fit for Windows Phone platform.

Even though there’s room for improvements, it’s nice to know that Slacker has started to overhaul the application’s design. Hopefully, we will see more updates that bring these types of changes in the not so distant future.

In fact, developers have confirmed that they will continue to improve the application, so expect new features and enhancements sooner, rather than later. “Slacker Radio is constantly updated and adapts to your tastes so the music is always fresh, fun and unexpected,” they say.

Another major improvement included in the update is Slacker Premium support. With the latest version of Slacker Radio, Windows Phone users will be able to play songs, albums and single-artist stations on-demand. They can also create their own playlists as well.

The update also introduces a new feature that allows users to download on-demand content for offline listening, such as albums and playlists.

The News & Sports section is now customizable, along with ESPN and ABC stations. Furthermore, users will now be able to fine-tune their stations. Last but not least, developers have confirmed that they have added Live station support.

Users who already have the application installed on their devices can manually update to the latest version, while new users can now download Slacker Radio for Windows Phone 2.0.7.0 for free via Windows Phone Store.

The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 7.5 and up. Keep in mind though that Slacker Radio is not available in all countries and some features may not be available on older devices.

It is also worth mentioning that in order to get rid of the ads and be able to access millions of songs offline, you must subscribe to the service.
