Bethesda has just revealed some more details, as well as a full changelog, about the eagerly awaited patch 1.4 for its popular The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim role playing game, although a release date hasn’t been given.

Skyrim was a stunning game and that’s why we crowned it Softpedia’s Game of the Year last month. Even so, it was hard to look past its array of glitches and problems, which caused quite a lot of problems for players, no matter the platform.

After Bethesda promised that a new patch, in the form of update 1.4, would arrive this month, the studio has now revealed more details, while saying that it’s still putting the finishing touches on the new patch.

“Skyrim’s 1.4 update is currently undergoing testing on all three platforms. The update will include fixes and optimizations for the most common issues people have been reporting. We’re hoping to finalize this next week, and submit it to the console manufacturers for certification, as well as release on PC.”

The studio has also confirmed that all new patches will be released as beta versions through Steam on the PC, so players can choose if they want to try them out or if they’re happy with the current version of their game.

Last but not least, the studio has once again confirmed that it wants to release the Creation Kit for Skyrim on the PC later this month. This official tool will finally allow players to tinker around with the game and produce better mods that can be shared through the Steam Workshop feature.

As of yet, however, neither the patch nor the creation kit have concrete release dates, so expect more details in the near future. Until then, check out the current Skyrim update 1.4 changelog below.
