Following last month's release of Skype for Symbian version 1.1.0, a hotfix was rolled out yesterday. The update, numbered 1.1.0.7, mainly addresses issues encountered by Sony Ericsson owners.

Users who experienced no outgoing audio during incoming calls will be pleased to hear that the issue has been fixed. Also resolved were other two problems, which prevented users from picking up incoming calls. The readability of input boxes for the sign in / new account screens when employing the default theme on phone was improved as well.

Besides these fixes for Sony Ericsson phones, all supported touchscreen-enabled devices received a security fix for a problem causing the password to be displayed in plain sight when typed using the virtual keyboard.

For those who missed the 1.1.0 version - last month’s release was a major update for Skype, Sony Ericsson Satio, Vivaz and Vivaz Pro were added to the supported phones list, as well as a few Nokia models. Also, the power consumed by the application was reduced by up to 20% and the user interface received a major facelift.

Users of Symbian S60 5th edition smartphones can download the updated version of Skype for free here.
