When you are planning to develop a new website or you have one but it has not any traffic yet, you start to ask yourself how you can make a bigger number of visitors, reflected in an increased traffic. There are many internet marketing and site promotion methods that will increase your web site traffic and in case of a balanced site, having an adequate design and content the visitors will stay for a while on your web site.

The only problem that could occur is whether they will return or they will recommend your site to their friends. There are a few practices that will assure a certain percent of returning visitors. Their number will depend in the first place on your content quality, site design (page loading time, text font and paragraph distribution on page, the utilization ratio of text, images, movies, sounds, animated characters and more) and popularity. From these three key concepts, popularity is the factor that will mostly influence the return of your visitors.

In order to make sure that your visitors will visit your web site again you must provide various entertaintment forms starting with the homepage, because even if they do not find the needed information, at least a reason for them to still stick to your website exists. For example, you can add RSS feeds with music, games, celebrities, free software, images and more.

You should also try to provide on line games, because games are very appreciated by most of the visitor categories, no matter their age. A forum or a blog hosted on your web account will attract many visitors that will return to check the presence of a new content. As a consequence, your website must be updated on a regular basis, depending on your site type and visitors number.

A point of attraction for every website is also represented by an on line chatting facility and free email accounts. The presence of a poll will help you understand better your visitors' needs and to adapt the website content accordingly. In the same manner, multilanguage content will please your audience. In my point of view, any web site should bring diversity to its content. And this attribute will be obtained with careful web site planning and resource usage.
