The interview Jesse James did with ABC’s Nightline, which also marks the first time that the star is opening up about the most recent events in his life, is already generating mixed responses. At one point, James claims his father was physically abusive to him as a child and even broke his arm when he was just a 7-year-old boy, a claim that Jesse’s sister, Julie James England, confirms for E! Online.

As we also informed you the other day, the interview sees James choke on his tears and then asking for a break so he can recollect himself, when he comes to the realization that his own son is now the age he was when his father broke his arm. He also says that his father was very violent and would beat him up whenever he had the chance, a story that his sister corroborates in a statement for the aforementioned media outlet. His father and his step-mother, though, are already calling the claims rubbish.

“Jesse James’ sister is standing by him. Julie James England tells E! News exclusively that the beleaguered stas’s revelation on Nightline about his dad physically abusing him as a child was ‘completely true.’ ‘I saw it,’ she says. ‘I lived there with my dad, and he was very aggressive with Jesse and I. He did abuse Jesse.’ This is not how their father remembers things, however. Responding to Jesse’s story about having his arm broken at age 7 by his father, Jesse’s dad, Larry, told RadarOnline that his son hurt himself when he fell off a fence, which he was climbing to retrieve a ball from their neighbor’s yard,” E! writes.

“Just to show off... he dove over the fence, landed on the ground, and broke his arm. But I didn’t break his arm. He did it by throwing a tantrum,” Jesse’s father says. The only thing he’s guilty of is making Jesse go to the neighbor’s to retrieve the ball, Larry believes. At the same time, he’s denying he ever gave his son a black eye, as a photo shown on Nightline hinted. Jesse had a bruise on his face because he’d gotten into an accident on a minibike and not because he’d been beaten.

Moreover, Larry is willing to take Jesse back with open arms regardless of the false story he told on national television. “I am so sorry for what has happened in his life. God knows I’ve made a lot of mistakes, unfortunately most of them has been with women. I kind of know where he is at right now. I am always there for him... with open arms,” Larry is quoted as saying. To this, Jesse’s sister has one thing to say: Larry and his wife are only talking to the media for the money, they don’t really care about Jesse.
