14 DAY TRIAL // This is the news most men have been waiting for since the unofficial breakup between Katy Perry and John Mayer was announced. The singer is making it known that she's looking for a new man in all the right places, but that's only if you ask people on Tinder.
British tabloid The Mirror is reporting that the “Roar” singer is looking for love online these days, after having struck out twice with celebrity men in her life. Perry claims to be really into Tinder, the dating app that's all the rage these days, which means that you too, the average Joe reading these lines, have a real shot at dating her.
Speaking with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, Perry admitted that she was single at the time, but claimed that she doesn't have time to see men because she's busy all day on Tinder: “Uh, yes I am, hello. I'm really deep on Tinder so I don't have a whole lot of time.”
Katy and John Mayer broke up in February, but she didn't officially come clean until this Monday when she talked about the split on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The reason for the split, which has been speculated incessantly in the press, was career over romance.
An insider confirmed that Perry was putting her “Prism” world tour ahead of her romance with Mayer and that's what finally caused the rift between them. This makes it the second time the couple has broken up and people are beginning to wonder if Katy is going to be single for long.
Perry also has a failed marriage to British comedian Russel Brand, and that's why fans were really glad when rumors began popping up around Valentine's Day that Katy and Mayer were planning a secret wedding.
The singer is said to be in much better spirits than after her breakup from Brand, with hints from an insider that she was actually relieved that her relationship with Mayer ended because deep down she knew she wasn't right for him.
All Tinder jokes aside, it doesn't look as if Katy is interested in getting back in a relationship anytime soon, at least not until her world tour is completed.
She has been seen getting cozy with music producer Diplo at the Coachella Music Festival, as well as with her old friend Robert Pattinson, but nothing serious is said to come out of it since she's so focused on work right now.
The rumors seem to hold some truth because, just recently, Katy has released an intricate video for her latest single “Birthday,” in which she plays several characters in full disguise.
