A man from Singapore has collected 9,000 Barbie dolls over the course of 20 years. Jian Yang's passion for the dolls has cost him £251,699 ($391,000 / €296,500) so far.

The first doll he bought was the “Great Shape” model, which was also featured in Toy Story. He acquired it when he was just 13 years old, Daily Mail wrote.

Now the Director of Strategy at Omicom Media Group owns a few rare dolls, including one that is only sold by the Comme des Garcons label.

He has decorated his living room in pink, following Mattel's branding indications by painting the walls in the Pantone 219 C color.

Yang travels a lot, and he bought 65 dolls on his latest trip to New York alone. He now has dolls dating back to the 1960s and some that portray Hollywood stars such as Grace Kelly, Barbra Streisand or Elizabeth Taylor.
