Last night at the Super Bowl, Simon Cowell and Fox introduced the first teaser trailer for the US version of the insanely popular X Factor show. About 100 million people tuned in to see it, it has emerged.

Talk about Cowell using the Super Bowl to premiere a teaser for his much-hyped new program began early on Saturday but, with no confirmation from the music mogul or Fox, there was very little to go by.

Eventually, the ad was shown and, surprisingly enough, it featured Simon alone. The names of the other members of the panel of judges will presumably be unveiled later this week.

The ad (which you can also see below, embedded at the end of the article) shows “x”-es flying into one direction. The viewer soon realizes that they’re like pieces of a puzzle that’s being put together before their very eyes.

Immediately after, it becomes clear that the 3D puzzle is actually a figure – that of a man. By the time all the “x”-es are in place, we have Simon Cowell in front of us, smiling that superior(-ish) smile of his.

The Mirror says that the ad managed to pull in about 100 million viewers, which is more than ok seeing how it cost Cowell and Fox over $3 million, which is the going rate for a 30-second TV spot during the Super Bowl.

“Cowell, 51, and TV execs forked out £1.86 million for a 30-second advertisement during the Super Bowl,” the Mirror reports.

“It showed the mogul in a 3D studio alongside special effects and announced that X Factor USA would be coming in the Autumn. A second ad will be shown tonight,” the tab further says.

“A source close to Cowell dubbed the project ‘The Super Cowl’ and said: ‘He wants the series to be the best talent show ever. Details about the judges will be released next week’,” the Mirror also says.

As of now, no word yet on who will be the other 2 or 3 judges joining Cowell at the judges’ table for the new show.

Rumor has it that Cheryl Cole may be one (she’s also on the British version of the show), but other names have also been thrown into discussion, like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Katy Perry.
