Simon Cowell, the man who made television history with the phrase “I don’t mean to be rude but…” as judge on several popular talent competition, will live to put contestants down another day, years from now. Cowell will have his body frozen so that he can be revived years later, when medicine allows for it, as he himself said during a recent social outing.

Cowell was dining with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown when he made the revelation. Since money is not, and has never been an issue with him, the television personality admitted to being a fan of the theory that, one day, medicine and science will be able to bring back man from the dead. With this in mind, he turns to cryonics for help.

“I have decided to freeze myself when I die. You know, cryonics. You pay a lot of money and you get stuck in a Deep Freeze once you’ve been declared dead. Medical science is bound to work out a way of bringing us back to life in the next century or so, and I want to be available when they do. I would be doing the nation an invaluable service.” the never modest Cowell told the select guests at the Brown dinner party.

With two companies already offering this type of services in the US (for a price that can go from £20,000 to £120,000, according to reports in the British media), Simon Cowell could actually stand a chance to making a splashing comeback many years from now. Of course, the part about doing the nation “an invaluable service” is still up for discussion, since, with all of Cowell’s merits, he is not that popular with the public for the way he treats contestants on shows like “Britain’s Got Talent,” “The X Factor” and “American Idol,” even if his eye for spotting raw talent has been proven time and time again.

Prime Minister Brown, though, is not so sure that he too could turn to cryonics to be brought back to life. “I am not sure me coming back from the dead would be quite as popular as Simon. In fact, there may be a public campaign to stop me being frozen!” Brown jokingly shared during the same dinner party.
