Cher Lloyd will be a pop star regardless of X Factor results: Simon Cowell confirms £2 million deal for her

Cher Lloyd has got it made as a pop star even if she doesn’t win the latest season of X Factor. Amidst talk of a fix, Simon Cowell has confirmed that she has a £2 million record deal waiting for her – as well as a duet with idol Cheryl Cole.

As we also informed you earlier today, for the first time in the history of the show, the semi-finals included a sing-off instead of eliminating a hopeful based on votes.

This meant that public’s favorite Mary Byrne was sent home, while Cher Lloyd made it through to the finals next week. However, regardless of the result, she is still the winner, the Daily Mail reports.

Apparently, confirmation comes from Simon Cowell himself that he’s so confident in Cher that he’s already offered her a record deal – and the chance to sing with her idol and mentor, Cheryl Cole, as well.

“Fans were also left fuming today after Simon Cowell revealed that he had arranged a duet between Cheryl Cole and Cher on the finalist’s debut album,” the Mail writes.

This comes on the heels of the aforementioned controversy, with people complaining that producers changed the rules of the show so that the judges could keep Cher on.

“He confirmed live on the show that the pair would sing together and Cher’s £2 million record deal will make her the big winner of the series, even if she wins or not,” the British tab further says.

In other words, by simply making it in the finals (with or without extra help, depending on who one asks), Cher has a guarantee of receiving support to launch her pop career.

To make matters even worse, since allegations of the show being a fix first emerge, more details have become available: as it turns out, not even Mary Byrne knew there would be a sing-off.

“A decision to have a sing-off between Cher Lloyd and Mary Byrne gave judges the deciding vote on which one would go through to next weekend’s final,” the Mail says.

Ironically enough, the host of the show had told viewers that they – and they alone – had the power to get their favorite through to the finals, which was clearly not the case since the judges had the final say.

“And Mary said she was only told at the last minute that the format had changed after she missed her sounds check because she was ill,” says the same tab.
