If there was still one person left in this world who didn't believe that The Sims franchise is nothing but a true record breaker, Electronic Arts have decided to send some stats about the game and the general reactions it has generated over the years. However, one of the most important records set (at least from EA's point of view because this means a LOT of money) is the sales figure since the launch in 2000: over 100 million copies worldwide!

Also, for all the Sims fans, a bunch of very interesting and worth looking at stats have been released. For example, this is probably the only franchise that is translated into 22 languages and 60 countries around the world. It has inspired millions of players to tell stories, create characters, explore relationships, live through generations, design fashions, build homes and design interiors for their Sims. This had as result the creation of over 100,000 videos on YouTube, videos that were enjoyed over 200 million times. No less than 4.3 million unique users visit the official Sims2 website and since its launch, over 70 million user-generated creations were downloaded. As you can see, this game is a multi-multi platinum one. And just imagine that Sims 3 is slowly coming to us!

"At this milestone, we want to thank players of The Sims everywhere for making The Sims such a worldwide phenomenon," said Rod Humble, Head of Studio for The Sims Label. "The Sims has been an interactive experience for people around the globe to explore their passion for creativity and we're thrilled to be a part of that. From building houses and relationships, from the first kiss to a toddler's first step, from kitchen fires - and even visits from ghosts, players have told more than 100 million unique and fun stories!"

If you want to know a bit more interesting stuff, here you are: the 100 million copies The Sims sold until now, lined up end to end would line the perimeter of the Wembley football pitch over 115,000 times! Also, the Simlish universal language has appeared on various artists' tracks, including Suffer Well by Depeche Mode, Pocket Full of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield. Other artists that have used the Simlish language in their songs were The Black Eyed Peas, Anthrax, The Veronicas, Celtic and Gaelic Storm and many more.
