14 DAY TRIAL // The Simi Valley community is horrified as a 32-year-old female teacher, Malia Brooks, who is a married woman and a mother of 2 as well, has been arrested and charged on various counts of lewd behavior with a minor.
Police have identified only one victim and believe no more will be revealed in the ongoing investigation. He is a boy of under 14, presumably from Brooks’ class.
Rumors of inappropriate behavior first started plaguing the teacher in February, when she was also put on administrative leave.
She turned herself in the other day, after an arrest warrant was issued in her name. Her attorney has informed investigators (and the media as well) that she suffers from an unspecified mental issue for which she’s now receiving treatment.
The same attorney says he believes her inappropriate conduct might be explained by her condition.
