Consumers are always on the lookout for new products, but innovative technologies and design elements simply do not emerge as often as some might like. As such, hardware makers often have to settle for small design tweaks when unleashing a “new” PC or component. There is no law that says this cannot be done in style, however, and SilverStone seems more than aware of this. As such, the company has unleashed a Limited Edition of its Fortress FT02.

The Fortress FT02 has become popular because it combines its maker's “most distinctive computer chassis breakthroughs.” One is the 90-degree-rotated motherboard mount, whereas the other is the unibody construction. The chassis was launched back in December and has now taken a new form. The only thing different about the Fortress FT02 Limited Edition is its internal coating. Basically, Silver Stone painted part of the black model's interior red.

The other specifications were left unchanged. The aluminum case still measures 212 (W) x 497 (H) x 616 (D) mm and weighs 15kg. It boasts five external 5.25-inch bays, a foam-padded interior, five internal 3.5-inch bays and one internal 2.5-inch bay for storage. There are also seven expansion slots and a top-mounted I/O panel with audio jacks and a pair of USB ports.

As far as cooling is concerned, the Fortress FT02 comes with four fans. A 1200RPM 120mm spinner with a sound output of 19dBA is placed on top, whereas the remaining three (180mm intake fan 700/1000RPM, 18/27dBA) are mounted at the bottom. Of course, complete information may be found on the original model's official product page, located here.

End-users that want their PC's insides colorful will find the SilverStone Fortress FT02 red and black Limited Edition up for order here, coupled with a price tag of 224.90 Euro.
