It might not be on par with the performance of Class 10, but Silicon Power's new Class 6 microSDHC memory card should find quite a few customers of its own anyway.

Long story short, Silicon Power has released a new, SD 2.0-compliant Class 6 microSDHC card whose capacity if of 32 GB.

It is intended for all sorts of handheld consumer electronics devices, especially digital cameras that need to take continuous shots or record Full HD video.

The minimum read speed, according to the announcement is of 6 MB per second.

The company also implemented support for Content Protection for Recordable Media (CPRM) and enough security features to satisfy the Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI).

Finally, the newcomer is RoHS-compliant and boasts a durability of 10,000 insertions.

Alas, it has not been given a price yet, though it is clear that any shipment will be backed by a lifetime warranty and post-sale service.
