They are made for ultra high definition photo and video cameras, among other things

Secure digital memory cards come in multiple capacity and performance options, and the ones that Silicon Power has just launched are among the best.

Called Superior UHS-1 (U3) SDHC/SDXC flash cards, they have read/write speeds of 90 MB/s and 45 MB/s, respectively.

That's Class 10 video recording performance and Speed Class 3 standard-ready (which actually needs a card to be just 30 MB/s fast, which the newcomers obviously exceed by a great deal).

You should make sure your DSLR, camera, HD camcorder, or 3D camera is UHS-I ready before you buy them though.

It would not be cool to pay dozens of dollars for 16/32 GB SDHC or 64 GB SDXC and find out it's useless to you. I’m not sure what the expected prices are though. Silicon Power didn't say in its press release.
