Some very interesting statements

The video game industry is getting bigger and bigger every moment, and it seems that stars have become very interested in lending their voices and/or faces to new titles that would garner them more fans. Such is the case with games based on movies, which really need the voices of the original actors in order to be more attractive to the fans of the films.

This is why, when another Aliens video game began to be speculated, a lot of journalists started to question Sigourney Weaver, the star of the Aliens movie franchise, about whether she had been contacted by any representatives of gaming companies. She recently decided to put an end to any speculation and revealed to MTV Multiplayer that she had been asked to appear in several games but declined due to the fact that they were very low quality.

“They wanted me to do Ripley and I said, Well you have Ripley killing aliens but also sick people and other marines! And every other word out of my mouth was a curse word. I’m not a nun or anything, but I said, ‘This is not true to the character.’ And they also showed me six video games and said it was going to be made by this company. There was one called ‘Rednecks’ where they shoot animals. The whole thing was so ridiculous.”

It definitely seems that the famous Hollywood actress really wants to appear in quality releases, and an Aliens game that wouldn't respect the guidelines set by the movie franchise wouldn't be worth the effort. She also revealed that she wasn't contacted by Atari in order to voice act in the upcoming Ghostbusters video game, despite the fact that she herself believed that, in order to give a better experience to players, she needed to appear in the game.

All in all, it seems that Sigourney Weaver is pretty popular with gaming companies, but her high standards suggest that we won't see her in any games anytime soon.
