Japanese camera and optics manufacturer Sigma introduced a couple of days ago the new dp Quattro camera series that comes with an out-of-this-world design, which since then has been the subject of various debates.

The new dp Quattro cameras pack a newly developed 29MP Foveon X3 Quattro CMOS sensor that uses vertical color separation technology to deliver outstanding image quality in comparison with traditional horizontal-type color separation sensors.

Sigma dp Quattro series includes a 19mm wide-angle dp1 Quattro, a 30mm standard dp2 Quattro, and a medium telephoto 50mm dp3 Quattro, all packing a 35mm equivalent focal length of 28mm, 45mm, and 75mm, respectively.

Unfortunately, we don't know whether the new camera design will be as popular as its manufacturer planned, but if you want to take a closer look at the new Sigma dp2 Quattro model, you should check out the CP+ 2014 photo gallery below, courtesy of DCwatch.
