Amidst the many troubles that mar her acting career, British actress Sienna Miller is still taking the time to speak to the media about how it feels to be a woman in Hollywood and the pressure of always looking good. In a recent interview, Sienna is saying that it’s women who are mostly to blame for the way society is as it is, while she personally can’t wait for Hollywood to see her as she is.

As fans know, Sienna recently had a fallout with the media over her affair with the married actor Balthazar Getty, which was soon followed by several snubs from the movie studios. Yet, she maintains, she is hardly responsible for anything that has gone wrong lately for her, as it’s the world in general and women in particular who are always looking for bad things to pick on.

Speaking to Style magazine, the once much loved actress explains that females are constantly at war with each other, somehow implying that they are also to blame for her professional downturn. “I’ve been at war, without a doubt. I have really experienced the judgment of women in the past year. It’s women who are holding us back. It’s women who are judging. I find it sad. We say we want to be on an equal path, but men don’t sit around [complaining] at each other. It’s very competitive. There’s no sisterhood.” Sienna tells the mag.

As for keeping up with Hollywood and its often absurd demands, Sienna simply cannot be bothered by them, although she acknowledges they are very powerful forces when put to work. As far as she’s concerned, she will still not have plastic surgery, she admits, and will instead grow old as she’s supposed to – and she just can’t wait for the world to see her as she is.

“Urgh, the pedestal thing stops me sleeping. Recently, I found myself thinking, ‘I’m getting wrinkles. And things are wobbling, I should go to the gym.’ Then I was like, ‘[Expletive] it!’ Actually. It’s not where the focus should be right now. Los Angeles is a nightmare for that. Young girls in Hollywood are having pre-emptive Botox. I say, let people be young and then be old. I can’t wait to be seen as a woman.” Miller further points out.

While this last part of Sienna Miller’s statement is right on the money, some argue, that does not change the fact that, when it comes to her career, she still doesn’t have that much to show for these days. Her latest film, “Hippie Hippie Shake,” for which she just finished filming, is so “horrible” it’s practically “unreleasable in its present form,” it emerged yesterday.
