T-Mobile USA will soon offer a new edition of its popular Sidekick LX handset, specially created for all the fans of Tony Hawk, as well as for all those who like skateboarding. Or, if the first two cases don't apply, for all those who simply want a different-looking Sidekick LX, be it with Tony Hawk's name on it or not.

The Tony Hawk Sidekick LX should be fully presented these days, according to Boy Genius Report, whereas for its actual availability, we'll have to wait until sometime around mid July. Besides having a skateboard-like look and a new texture (called grip-tape), the Tony Hawk handset will also come with the ability to record video, enhanced stereo Bluetooth support, faster data transfer speeds and various themes and backgrounds. Plus, the phone will feature the already known swiveling display, a QWERTY keyboard for quick text input, Instant Messaging, email, Web browser, picture messaging, external caller ID, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Music player, embedded games, expandable memory and a 1540 mAh battery for up to 6 hours of talk-time and up to 4 days of stand-by time.

All the Sidekick LX handsets (not just the Tony Hawk ones) will soon benefit from a firmware upgrade that brings the video recording feature, stereo Bluetooth capabilities and improved connectivity.

The original edition of Sidekick LX was released by T-Mobile back in October 2007 and it can now be bought for $249.99, in two color versions: blue and brown. The other Sidekick handset offered by T-Mo, namely Sidekick Slide, can also be bought in two colors, blue and scarlet (red), for $199.99.

There's no word yet about how much the Tony Hawk Sidekick LX will cost, but its price will probably be higher than the one of the normal edition.
