SiS announced that their SiS671 chipset will be used by Fujitsu when producing the Desktop PC FMV-D3240. This entry-level computer is well-equipped for various tasks. The mainboard supports Intel's Core 2 Duo, Pentium 4 and Celeron processors running at a FSB of 800, 667 and 533MHZ and in combination with SiS' chipset SiS671 should provide sufficient computing power for today's demanding applications. The memory standard chosen was DDR2 at 667MHZ, in order to make good use of the Intel CPU's optimization for DDR2. The mainboard supports a maximum installable memory size of 2GB.

The graphics engine is embedded into the SiS671 chipset. Named Mirage 3, it enables the Fujitsu computer to be fully compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista. The Southbridge of Fujitsu FMV-D3240 offers all the new and popular technologies like PCI Express x1 and Serial ATA interface. SiS671 uses a separate Serial ATA high-speed connector, which gives the computer a data processing boost.

There are six USB 2.0 ports so the system will be able to interface with all the new gadgets on the market today and will help users who need to interact with web cameras, mice, printers or scanners. The SiS671's Southbridge features an integrated High Definition Audio system which allows Fujitsu FMV-D3240 to deliver high quality audio while the networking support is provided by a 10/ 100/ 1000 Mbps Ethernet card, enabling users to achieve greater surfing and download speeds.

Daniel Chen, Ceo and President of SiS declared that "It is obvious that both SiS and Fujitsu have the same vision of developing the latest technology to support Windows Vista. Fujitsu puts its faith in the capabilities of both SiS671 and SiS671FX chipsets. SiS is so honored to have such a wonderful partner and we foresee the further success for both of us."
