Shuttle just announced the launch of its latest and greatest small form factor desktop computing system, the Shuttle XPC Prima SX38P2 Pro, that is aimed at providing high performance levels in all computing applications, while keeping the noise down and its spatial footprint at a low level.

The new mini personal computer from Shuttle is powered by an Intel central processing unit built using the 45 nanometer fabrication process that enjoys a multi core internal architecture and a frontside bus speed of 1333Mhz. Based on the high performance Intel X38 desktop chipset, the Shuttle built mainboard also integrates a number of technologies that are aimed at optimizing the random access memory sub-system, while the presence of the Intel Turbo Memory Technology allows the computer system to achieve better overall performance and lower boot times.

As the manufacturing company used only high quality hardware components while the manufacturing process of the Shuttle XPC Prima series SX38P2 Pro small form factor desktop computer system, its users will surely enjoy the increased capabilities and reliability of the all solid capacitor design that also leads to an extended system lifetime. Apart from these features the new Shuttle made mini personal computer also features a power supply unit that is rated at having an above 80 percent energy efficiency that is much more energy saving than most currently used PSUs.

Thanks to its redesigned case and chassis, the new Shuttle XPC Prima SX38P2 Pro enjoys a lower temperature working environment that is brought by the increased airflow while keeping the noise at an absolute minimum. A patented Shuttle technology called USB Speed-Link allows two such computers to communicate over a standard high speed USB 2.0 cable without the need of a network.

The Shuttle XPC Prima SX38P2 Pro is based on the Intel X38 Express mainboard chipset that is paired with the ICH9R southbridge chip and so it offers native support for Intel central processing units from the Core 2 Extreme, Core Quad and Core 2 Duo product lines. The system also offers native support for as much as 8GB of DDR2 random access memory running at 800MHz laid out in a dual channel configuration and which can be easily and safely overclocked to an impressive 1066Mhz.

Two PCI Express x16 ports are also available and the new Shuttle mini personal computer uses the ATI CrossFire multi graphics card setup while the presence of a legacy PCI port makes it easy for users to connect older expansion cards to this computer system. On the connectivity side, the system comes with eight high-speed USB ports as well as two FireWire connectors and its storage needs are addressed by the presence of four Serial ATA II and two eSATA hard disk drive connectors.
