Three days before the first Nokia World conference kicks-off and the first Windows Phone smartphones will be revealed, Grocery Server and Smart Shopping announced a partnership to bring the mobile app on Windows Phone platform.

The collaboration between one of the largest digital grocery marketing platform in the United States, and Smart Shopping, a well known developer of mobile apps, will offer Windows Phone smartphone users a powerful grocery shopping tool.

Given the integration of the Grocery Server API, the Smart Shopping app will show users exactly what's on sale in their neighborhood stores, hence shoppers will be able to make smart purchases and save money on great deals.

In addition, the application includes local deals and shopping lists for both consumers and brands, and is fully integrated with the Windows Phone platform via Live Tile. This means that users will be able to access the Smart Shopping app directly from the Start screen.

Windows Phone puts people at the center of the smartphone experience and Smart Shopping is a great example of how Windows Phone apps can make an age-old task, like grocery shopping, easier. Smart Shopping is an example of how developers can use the unique capabilities of the latest version of Windows Phone to turn their app ideas into a reality,” said Todd Brix, Senior Director, Windows Phone Marketplace at Microsoft.

According to Grocery Server, the application allows users to access more than 60,000 retail locations, along with the full range of grocery categories, including seafood, prepared foods and meats.

Features include list sharing, an easy-to-use item suggestion menu, hyper-relevant store specials in your local area, shopping history, favorites lists, an advanced store manager that lets you create different aisles and product lists for different stores, and much more,” said Brian Satorius, CEO of Smart Shopping.
