More details are coming to light about a woman dying in a police chase on Capitol Hill. Miriam Carey tried to get through the barricades at the Capitol yesterday, setting off a police chase that got her fatally shot.

Carey has been described as a troubled woman, suffering from post-partum depression after her August delivery.

However, neighbors described that Carey was dating and she was a high earner. The 34-year-old mom worked as a dental hygienist in Connecticut and made $100,000 (€74,000) per year.

“She had everything going for her. [...] A beautiful baby, a man helping her with her baby, a job making $100k (€74k) per year. Her child was her everything,” neighbor Yolanda Napoleon describes for the New York Post.

Until 2005, Carey lived in Brooklyn, where she grew up. She is also licensed to practice in New York.
