Pictures of Steve Jobs obtained by wenn.com on Thursday and deemed ‘shocking’ by NYDailyNews.com have surfaced along with more positive rumors that the CEO is recovering, rather than dying.

Calling the images in question “shocking”, the NY online publication describes the Apple CEO as “sickly”, and looking “rail-thin” - epithets often used to describe Steve Jobs following his battle with cancer, and a liver transplant.

However, unlike previous reports that said the Apple chief had weeks to live (based on similar photos prior to his iPad 2 keynote), this report indicates Mr. Jobs’ condition is not necessarily worse.

In fact, he’s reportedly getting better.

On Thursday, Jobs was spotted walking into a Palo Alto restaurant “under his own power”. The CEO reportedly met “a friend” there for lunch.

It is not specified where the assumption Jobs-is-getting-better is coming from, but we believe it has something to do with the fact that he was traveling alone.

The photos come weeks after Steve Jobs personally introduced the iPad 2 in front of an enthusiastic crowd of journalists in San Francisco, California.

His appearance on stage at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts’ Novell Theater was a surprise, amid growing concerns of his medical condition spawned by controversial photos published by The National Inquirer a few weeks prior to the announcement.

The Apple boss appeared quite vivid and perfectly capable to carry out the proper introductions, though still looking very thin.

Jobs is likely undergoing treatment preventing his cancer from returning. The treatment is perhaps responsible for his weak appearance.

Steve Jobs recently sent a letter to his employees in Japan.

In it, he said “Our hearts go out to you and your families, as well as all of your countrymen who have been touched by this tragedy.”
