Grim news today as it's just being reported that one of the actors from the police series “The Shield” has been accused of murdering his wife after she was found dead by police in their home. Michael Jace, who plays Detective Lowe on the series, has been taken into custody as an investigation into the case has been launched.

The actor was taken away by police officers from his home on Tuesday, May 10, at one o'clock in the morning and was booked on suspicion of murdering his wife. April Jace, was found dead in their home after the actor himself called the cops to tell them that he had shot her.

The Los Angeles Police Department has refused to give out any details into the investigation but they have confirmed that they arrived at the couple's home in the Hyde Park neighborhood on Monday evening around 8:30 PM and that April Jace, Michael's 40-year-old wife, was found dead on the scene.

TMZ confirms through its own sources that the actor called 911 and told emergency personnel that “I shot my wife.” After he made the report, he is believed to have stayed on the phone as instructed by the operator until police officers arrived.

Neighbors from the actor's home have confirmed that they have heard shots fired in his residence, shortly after which police cruisers arrived on the scene, presumably after Jace's very own 911 call.

A later update seems to confirm that Jace wasn't alone with his wife at home when the alleged shooting took place, but were also accompanied by their two children who are now believed to have witnessed the entire affair.

The children, both under 10 years, are said to be extremely shaken from the incident and they were taken by police to the station so they can close off the crime scene. Officials were very displeased that it took Child Services employees the better part of 4 hours to get to the police station and take the kids to the home of a relative for protection and comfort.

The actor had been married to his wife for nine years and had two children together. Jace is best known for his role in the TV series “The Shield,” but also has a number of outstanding roles in big movie titles in his resume.

Some of you might remember him as starring opposite Russell Crowe in the movie “State of Play,” as the prison inmate in “The Replacements,” a member of the Black Panthers in “Forrest Gump” and a ticket scalper in the drama “The Fan.”

Story developing.
