Shia LaBeouf has already earned for himself a reputation of a kiss-and-tell, when he talked to the press about the brief fling he had with Megan Fox on the set of “Transformers,” and his most recent interview won’t help him shed that image.

Speaking with the British media (as cited by the Daily Mail) about his role in the critically acclaimed “Lawless,” Shia also touched on topics pertaining to his personal life, such as his short-lived but highly mediated romance with Carey Mulligan.

The two dated for about a year and split in October 2010, refusing to disclose the reasons for the split to the press.

Shia sets the record straight in this new interview: they just wanted different things in life, and the differences in lifestyle eventually killed the romance.

Even though things didn’t work out for them, Shia has only nice things to say about her.

“Carey is not just an actress, she is a great human being, a sweet girl and super intelligent. Our thing came down to not having compatible work/lifestyles,” the actor explains.

“We were always travelling, and had sensibility differences that weren't conducive to living with one another. I'm harder on myself and my surroundings than she is, and we had a culture shock in terms of meeting her parents and vice versa,” he further says.

She also wanted marriage and kids, which was not in his plans for the immediate future at the time. It still isn’t.

“She's happy as hell right now, and we wouldn't have been able to make it like that. She was chasing marriage, family, kids more than I was,” LaBeouf goes on to say.

“I'm not opposed to marriage. I just think I'm quite young. I come from divorce. I'm only doing marriage once. It's not a game for me. I'm not a religious person, but I have ethics,” he adds.

As noted above, this isn’t the first time that Shia spills the beans on his private affairs. When rumor broke that he and Megan Fox might have slept together while shooting for “Transformers,” he simply stepped forward and confirmed it for the press.

Megan wasn’t happy when he did, sources said.
