“Transformers 3” is going into production and, after a year of bad reviews and critical backlash against “Revenge of the Fallen,” Shia LaBeouf is stepping up to admit that, indeed, the film was not as good as they intended it to be. Because of this, he can promise that, from what he knows, the third film will try to focus less on the explosions and the action scenes and more on the “human element,” MTV News informs.

Granted, “Transformers” was from the start an action movie, so those looking for Oscar-worthy performances in it were in the wrong place. Still, even with this considered, “Revenge of the Fallen” was rather disappointing, LaBeouf believes. On the bright side, the cast, director Michael Bay and everyone else involved in the project will do their best to make sure that the third film in the franchise compensates for the shortcomings of the second one.

“Last summer’s ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ left a fair number of fans and critics disappointed. For all of the slick action and convincing CG effects, a too-strong focus on the alien robots made human stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox feel like supporting players. LaBeouf, who is currently promoting ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ at the Cannes Film Festival, acknowledges the sequel’s shortfalls and promises a more fulfilling experience in July 2011’s ‘Transformers 3’,” MTV writes.

“‘When I saw the second movie, I wasn’t impressed with what we did,’ the actor said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in France. ‘There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone.’ LaBeouf is about to start work on the 2011 sequel, and he’s feeling optimistic about the possibilities. After affirming that he thinks the next outing will be the best one yet, he went on to reveal that the script ‘restores a human element that got lost in the second movie’,” the e-zine also reports.

Another thing fans hope will happen in the threequel is that the emphasis be shifted again to the main characters. The addition to the cast of John Malkovich, Patrick Dempsey and Frances McDormand has also served as the ultimate argument in support of Bay’s promise that the third part will also include more acting.
