Among the many announcements of notebooks, netbooks, desktops, Blu-ray related products and USB 3.0 technology, Sherwood distinguished itself from other companies by offering a unique merger of the most attractive features possessed by the more popular products from three different market segments. The company is going to use CES as an opportunity to showcase the iNet Digital Media Player.

The product is an attractive combination that merges together a digital picture frame, an iPod/iPhone-specific docking system and Internet Radio capabilities. The final result is a sleek and appealing package that promises to easily connect to the web, play back audio files and display photos.

“The iNet-2.0 is a very cool high-tech device. With its large display and alarm function, it’s the ultimate connected alarm clock,” Jeffrey Hipps, Sherwood’s Sr. VP of Marketing and Product Development, said. “Whether you’re listening to streaming music or playback from your iPod or phone, it’s the perfect desktop companion, and it’s great for starting and ending your day with music.”

The device will sit perfectly on a desk or a table, even next to the PC, and will allow for viewing photos besides the high-quality audio capabilities. The device will be able to play back MP3, Windows Media, AAC+ and RealAUDIO files. The product itself even has 1 GB of internal storage for keeping end-users' favorite photos and music. The digital media player is also designed with a USB Host 1.1 connector for input and an SD/SDHC/MC card slot for additional storage.

Besides just being able to play back files owned by the consumer, the iNet will be able to connect to streaming stations worldwide and provide extra audio playback through the Rapsody and Napster services. Lastly, the device has “Made for iPhone” and “Made for iPod” certifications, allowing audio playback from any Apple devices.

The iNet 2.0 Digital Media Player will become available in May 2010 and will start selling for $299.95.
