14 DAY TRIAL // After the hot mess that was “Sharknado,” the producers from the Syfy channel decided that it would be a great idea to make a sequel, and thus “Sharknado 2: The Second One” came into being. Today, the first official teaser trailer has been released to hype up people about the new movie.
Though short, the video does have a lot of people screaming while generically looking up at the sky, as well as Ian Ziering prophetically saying, “It's happening again!” just in case it wasn't painfully obvious, as sharks rain down from the clouds, squashing and biting people.
The movie is also able to poke fun at itself by presenting a quote from Entertainment Weekly's review, which reads, “Bigger … bolder … even more ridiculous.” For fans, that translated to “don't get your hopes up.”
The synopsis for the film is only described as “a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites - and only Fin and April can save the Big Apple.”
Apart from Ian Ziering, the movie also stars Tara Reid, Kelly Osbourne, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch and Mark McGrath, along with a large number of celebrity cameos that have agreed to appear in the sequel directed by Anthony C. Ferrante. “Sharknado 2: The Second One” is going to premiere on the Syfy Channel on July 30.
