14 DAY TRIAL // Sony has confirmed that it's rolling out a brand new update for the ShareFactory applications on the PS4, bringing forth a variety of fresh features for the video editor, not to mention a theme based on The Last of Us.
Sharing is a key part of the PS4 experience, at least according to Sony, so the company added a special Share button on its DualShock 4 controller and made it relatively easy to upload screenshots or videos to social networks.
Recently, it went one step further and added a special ShareFactory video editing app to the PS4, so that owners can string together bits of footage they recorded on the console and add a variety of effects and other things on top.
The app has been a huge success and Sony has finally decided to release an update that's aimed at bringing fresh features to the software as well as to prepare it for the release of The Last of Us Remastered for the PS4.
First up, for those who are getting the remastered PS3 game for the new console, a special The Last of Us theme is included in the free update, which is filled with all sorts of goodies.
"Just in time for the launch of The Last of Us Remastered on PS4, the new patch will add custom themes from the critically-acclaimed action-adventure game, so you can spice up your captured gameplay moments with ShareFactory. The new TLOUR theme includes 39 new stickers, six new transitions, two new background images plus new intro, outro and title clips," the studio says on its PS blog.
Users will finally be able to import their screenshots from the capture gallery into ShareFactory videos thanks to the new update. What's more, the images made with the Photo Mode feature that's included in Infamous: Second Son or the upcoming The Last of Us Remastered can also be imported into the videos.
"You’ll be able to import screenshots from your capture gallery to the ShareFactory videos you create. This is a feature that many of you have requested, and we are really excited to bring this to ShareFactory to make it easier for you to create your memorable moments," Sony adds.
"You can also include photos captured using Photo Mode. Photo Mode is a great way to enhance your gameplay screenshots and add your artistic talents to make the photos much more mesmerizing."
Last but not least, the new ShareFactory update also brings fresh filter effects and stickers, not to mention improvements to the user interface.
