Sharing photos on the Internet tends to become one of the most popular activities because you can make your pictures available to anyone, no matter if he's a member of the community or just a guest.

That's why Google wanted to own a specific service for this need, creating Picasa Web Albums, a feature of the Picasa software solution that allows you to organize your huge collection of pictures with ease. Using this function, you can upload your images to Google's servers and share them with your friends, family or other users of the service.

Because Picasa Web Albums was available just in English, users from other countries were restricted from using their languages and were forced to create picture albums with English-based description.

Today, Steve McKay, Software Engineer, announced that 18 additional languages were added to Picasa Web Albums to allow everybody to use their language in the description of the images.

"Have you been waiting to share your photos on Picasa Web Albums in a language other than English? We don't want you waiting a minute longer, so today our team in Santa Monica is very happy to give you the ability to create web albums in 18 additional languages: English (UK), English (US), Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Taiwanese, and Turkish. If you've already got a Picasa Web Albums account in English, click the "Settings" link to change your language," he said.

If you're new to this service, or you're just interested in uploading pictures to Picasa Web Albums, you should know that it's easier to do that using Picasa. It is a software application that helps you organize a huge number of images from your hard-disk, being one of the most popular programs in this category.
