Sultry singer Shakira may be popular all over the world for her latest song and video with Rihanna, but that love isn't being felt in the most unexpected place of all – her native country.

A Colombian councilman is not only slamming the diva's latest video as promoting unhealthy behavior, but he's also trying to actively get the video banned in Colombia, in order to prevent the spreading of said behavior.

The Huffington Post says that, in a tweet on his profile, Marco Fidel Ramirez has branded “Can't Remember to Forget You” as “simply disgusting” and an “unabashed glorification of lesbianism.”

He is now reaching out to the Autoridad Nacional de Television, Colombia's national television authority, to ban the musical clip in Columbia. Ramirez has also posted a message on his personal website that cautions of the hurtful content of the video that can damage “the moral character of Bogota, Colombia and Latin America's youth.”

Though very outspoken, Ramirez isn't the only one pointing out to the immoral character of Shakira's collaboration with Rihanna. Certain voices from the gay community have also noted that the posturing of the two singers depicted in the video is demeaning for gays in general and women in particular.

Meanwhile, the video is enjoying huge popularity on the internet, having amassed over 70 million views on YouTube since it's been released on January 30.
