Coming in late March

Ubisoft, as the publisher, and Blue Byte Software, as the developer, have announced the contents of the Collector's Edition for Settlers VII: Paths to a Kingdom, which is set to be delivered on the PC and Mac platforms on March 23 in North America and on March 25 in European territories. All those who are interested in getting the full experience out of the new Settlers game should take a look at what the two companies are offering.

Those players who pick up the Collector's Edition will be getting a new game map exclusive to them and that cannot be obtained through other means, a set of unique architectural pieces (one game model, three windows, one balcony and one gargoyle), which they can use to add a special feel to the cities they build and the full game soundtrack.

Long time fans of the Settlers series can also look forward to the exclusive figurine depicting one of the builders in the game, a huge poster, which depicts the characters appearing in Settlers VII and a seed pouch set to remind gamers of the basic needs of their subjects that they need to fulfill in order to succeed in the game.

Ubisoft has not mentioned the price of the Collector's Edition of Settlers VII: Paths to a Kingdom but it will probably be priced at the usual 59.99 dollar tag that games sell for these days.

The publisher was at the center of some controversy in the last month because of its announcement that Settlers VII should be the first game set to use new DRM techniques destined to limit the impact of piracy and offer a better experience to the player. Those who want to play the game will need to maintain a constant Internet connection and have a Ubi.com account. These will allow the game to authenticate itself and store saves on a Ubisoft owned cloud.
